Wits is top of the class in the 2020 Academic Ranking of World Universities.

The University of the Witwatersrand has been ranked first in Africa in the 2020 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) that has just been released. It has been placed in the 200 – 300 band – there are approximately 25 000 universities in the world.
