Sometime last spring or summer is when she knew she needed help.


That was when Detroiter Malikah Garner, 32, wife and mother of two young boys, had had enough of carrying the invisible weight of motherhood, family, unresolved childhood pain, cultural expectations and her career solely on her petite (but resilient) shoulders.
