Akron council members who balked at national police reform last week allowed a resolution supporting the federal legislation out of committee Monday.

Reintroduced by Ward 5 Councilwoman Tara Samples, the resolution urging the U.S. Senate to pass H.R.1280 (the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021) cleared a vote in the Public Safety Committee and passed Monday night by a vote of 10-3.
