This is a huge case. Monumental in what it means for freedom of the press, for journalism to stand as an institution holding power to challenge, ultimately for democracy as a forum of governance courageous enough to be critically examined. And yet, corporate media has remained totally silent about this case. Assange is, if I can use this much abused designation, truly a martyr, a hero. Same goes for Snowden, and all the unsung truth-bearers who blow the whistle in spite of all the risks, and all the fear. That's fucking courage.
