MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -Beloit’s first Black police chief took his oath of office on Thursday at a public ceremony at Riverside Park.
Chief Andre T. Sayles was sworn in at a private ceremony on April 19 and took office.
The chief said his goal is to focus on building trust in law enforcement and reduce fear in communities.
