In his years of representing the families of slain Black people, attorney Benjamin Crump said he has grappled with the harsh reality that there are two justice systems in America.
One justice system, Crump said, allows law enforcement officers to feel empowered to use deadly force against Black citizens without fear of repercussions. Another justice system allows unarmed Black people to be too often perceived as threats while armed white people are often not.
