Black community members say recent spike in gun violence due to gang activity, pandemic | News

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – With a marked increase in gun violence in the month of July in Portland, members of the Black community are suggesting much of that violence could be connected to gang activity, which they say has increased during the pandemic.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, the month of July saw officers responding to 99 shootings, compared to 35 last July.
