Boca Raton residents fight to preserve city’s oldest neighborhood, the historically Black Pearl City

Pearl City, near Glades Road and Dixie Highway, was founded in 1915 and is the oldest remaining community in Boca Raton. Developing Interracial Social Change, or “DISC,” is a community group that works to bridge racial and economic gaps in the community. The organization will screen the documentary, “Sharing the Stories of Pearl City,” on Monday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
