Hundreds of people joined the so-called ‘Black Consciousness’ march in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo on Wednesday, against what they claimed to be racial discrimination in the country.
The march marked the death anniversary with Zumbi dos Palmares, one of the most celebrated leaders of slave resistance in Brazil.
Participants of the march reportedly raised their fists in a Black Power salute, which the Black Panther Party (BPP) used as a symbol of resistance.
A series of related events took place across the city.
