Coronavirus cases in Africa top 140,000

The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says over 147,000 cases were confirmed across the continent as of Monday. More than 4,200 people have died from the virus.

The spread of infection in the continent is coming much later than in other parts of the world. Concerns about contagion are growing, particularly in slums with poor hygiene and communities with insufficient medical services.
