Coronavirus update: US testing rates drop as death toll rises, virus's resurgence hurting economic recovery

Testing rates for coronavirus has dropped in the US even though infections remain high and the death toll rises by more than 1,000 a day.

The Federal Reserve policymakers say the virus’s resurgence is slowing economic recovery, while the former virus epicentre of New York City will impose strict quarantine measures for visitors, with large fines flagged for those who break quarantine.

And, the World Health Organization has doubts over North Korea’s positive coronavirus test result.
