I think the most scariest, frustrating thing I've ever seen about Africa today is the ones that leave and risk being killed , so tragically, in so many ways. I think I'd rather take a shovel and dig for water in the Sahara, than take that venture. Amen

Am also a US Veteran whose been living my best life in Ugandan for 3-1/2 years. I lost 25 pounds in 3 months, got off a bunch of medications the VA had me on, built and paid off a 4 bedroom home with a view of Lake Victoria, have beautiful African/American Dual Citizen children, immersed myself into the culture and am living at a fraction of the cost.
My sister just retired last year and moved into my former home. We are treated like kings and queens wherever we go. We have personal drivers, maids, nannies, personal trainers, weekly massages and all of our expenses are less than $1,500 a month each. She also lost 25 pounds in 3 months and is healthier now than she's been in years.
Every child of the Diaspora, especially retirees should at least do some research and come visit a few African nations. Americans, Europeans and Asians are fighting to get here to start businesses or retire, while a Black man's life expectancy in the USA has dropped to 69 years, which is lower than it is in a dozen African Nations.
Everybody's experience in repatriation is different, but not one of the people I've helped or know wants to go back to America.
I think we need some sort of road map, a checklist of things to do – in sequential order, know what we need or need to do for a seamless transition. I was thinking of selling my place and just buying a plane ticket but I'm not vaccinated.

A side comment: as someone who lives in Europe, I always found it strange that your society denies 50% of certain peoples citizenship by referring to them as African American or Asian American but not European American.

I’m 100% Navy Veterans and I sold my house in America and living my best life here in Ethiopia with my Beautiful Ethiopian wife. Ethiopia can be somewhat expensive when it comes to car’s and really nice furniture; but still my benefit’s allows me to live a way more better life and debt free. I'm from San Diego California 48 years old, 8th grade drop out, survived the gang generation. Anyway, I have no interest in Mexico no disrespect for anyone else who enjoys it there. I flew to Uganda and bought land, I love the village life and how peaceful the people are. If you want a piece of the pie, go to Africa and invest your money. I'm building rentals in Uganda, driving a truck and sending money to my wife in Uganda. She watches the engineers while they build my rentals, I just paid $1000 to get all the iron doors and windows put in my 1st floor, next I'll send $1000 for the government to pipe water on my land, it so nice seeing progress being done and that one day I can return to my land fully built and no one can push me off my property. Invest In Africa you guys, I miss Uganda everyday, but America has the money so I gotta stay here until my project is completed. Your going to need a business of some sort so save your money.

So true Go Black. It really amazes me how I go overseas and I see the simpler life people live, and I just long for it. Yet as you said people willingly come here. I agree to each his own…. but I am definitely a member of that group. I haven't decided on where, but I plan on retiring abroad. Early. 100$ in agreement with you on how at a certain point, you start to really think about what peace means. All of your points are things my wife and I talk about constantly for the last 5 years or so. Funny what you said about building as you have money. I noticed that in Colombia as well, San Andres, where there are deep African roots. I'm glad to hear you talk about other places outside of Africa. I too have traveled to Africa. First to Johannesburg then over to Tanzania and took the ferry to Zanzabar, had a great time! There is a lot of truth there in Tanzania in their museums. Maybe it was more of a dangerous time when in Tanzania but we tried to go out for a walk and let’s just say it wasn’t a good idea. We had to run back to our hotel. Going back to my comment, so when the beast and false prophet are on the scene and no man can BUY or SELL unless he has the Mark, will it matter where you are at that time??

Vets are travellers by nature. We are more couragous than the avg mtu. We are fighters. We are ambituous. It only makes sense for this type of person after learning who he is, whats his history combined with experiencing racism even while within the ranks of the military to repatriate to the land of his ancestors.
Europeans and Chinese love Africa very much. They invest and take all that money back home.
