  1. Hey, the Truth is Ghana is not for Everyone plus when compared to the cost of living in Other African Countries, GhanaπŸ‡¬πŸ‡πŸ‡¬πŸ‡ is very, very expensive and Over rated, if you ask me

  2. I've looked up houses in Africa and they are a little bit cheaper than american houses so no they are not cheap. Anyone trying to move to another country do your research first and do a lot of saving and yes a lot of work!!!

  3. The main problem I see with all the families and Africans who return to the west is lack of FINANCIAL EDUCATION.
It makes no sense to me whatsoever to move to an African country for work when you can start an online business wherever you are first.

It's lack of financial education and financial indiscipline. We want to be big boss without actually owning any business with passive income

  4. please don't forget this family acheamping is half ghanean so ghana is their home they can return when they want and they have the experience. I am gratefull for the video they show us which helps for repatriation when you want to keep a certain life style

  7. I think their problem might be finances because they are not total strangers in Ghana both have part of their families originated from Ghana, the Guy has his father from Ghana and the lady has her father from Ghana or Togo so they have family members around. They were not in Ghana by themselves, their extended family are also around, unless their extended family were constantly badgering them for money which we all know African family members are notorious for that.

  8. I'm Black British African Nigerian heritage. My husband is Togolaise. We live and work in Shanghai, China. Living a western lifestyle in China is expensive so alot of time we live Chinese its cheaper!

  9. Life is about being realistic – great video – I had 7 months in Gambia at the start of Cvovid last year – what an amazing experience that was – just like with anywhere I needed money to survive – I was torn to return to the UK – aka – Coronaville. The reality was I came back to my family – home and job. That ultimately I did not have there : (

  10. They made a few accommodation mistakes initially e.g. renting too large properties. They obviously were there short term. They didn't have any transferable skills that would generate employment. But they were very honest in their videos and at least they tried. But it was obvious they'd eventually run out of money….

  11. We moved here 11 years ago with three kids and would never go back to Europe. I always say that I can tell whether someone will make it after staying for a year. Having watched their videos where they are constantly referring in to Ghanaians as locals one kind of understands why it did not work out. Africa or any other place will not change for you. You need to change and most of us moved here in the first place because we needed a change. Someone mentioned budgeting which is so true but equally important is priorities. You need to find an everyday life that works for you. Get rid of all those toys and teach the kids other values in life. Enjoy each other as a family and enjoy sitting under the mango tree on a Friday afternoon. Everyone won't make it and I believe they did the right choice moving back to NL. I just hope they and others will be able to reflect on the experience. Moving to Ghana is not impossible but you need to be realistic and genuinely interested in living in Ghana and not in search for a life in luxury. You can do that during a vacation but it will always backfire if you live as if it will continue forever.

  12. Well. Everything costs everywhere. Private schools, high rent districts (as we say in the South), house help, nannies, renting cars long term along with the cultural changes β€œwill stress you out” when you want to live a higher lifestyle than the one you left in the West. They were working jobs in the West.We call that fronting. But that’s their business and I guess ours since they put everything out here to be consumed. πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

  13. They were trying to be hoiti toiti classy showing off, the female, on the locals so it drained their money. They cannot survive in third world countries with first World comforts and habits. Kudos to them for trying even if they failed. For those of you diaspora living in the Caribbean, you'd fit into Ghana just right and adjust.

  14. Many folks with barely there income (paycheck to paycheck) think they can go to Africa and live much higher standard lives. Unfortunately, those in Africa who live at the level they are trying to compare to, will be considered rich in any Western country. Be realistic and do your research.

  15. They wanted to experience Ghana for Some time and go back, because both of their fathers are Ghanaians but they don't know the language, culture and other things about Ghana, and they did not want their children to miss some things about Ghana like they did.

So they decided to come and return after a while then
COVID 19 made them stay longer and this exact explaining came from the women's mouth.
But you seem to want to twist things, whatever.
We don't Care whether Americans come to Ghana or not, go online and check out all the resources God Almighty has blessed Ghana with So Mister WE DO NOT NE ED YOU,
Besides Ghana made them grow in multiple ways, they said that too.
And Reporting about Ghana has given them YouTube audience and money, that isn't So bad, is it
    Thanks

  16. This is the best analysis I have heard so far! So spot on! The Acheampong family did not come to stay, they came to visit and got stuck because of COVID and adjusted. I really enjoyed their journey and believe they’ll be back.

  17. Ghana and the rest of Africa is PAY as YOU GO , you need to have a source of income comparable to the West in order to live there. Very very few have access to loans. Properties and rents are extortionately over priced , The infrastructure is under developed by western standards If you do not have long term robust plan. You will Fail !!! its just a matter of time.

  18. PREACH!!! I personally never understood how ur a MARRIED COUPLE and there's a financial deficit πŸ˜‚. All the husband had to do is go back to the Netherlands and work a few months and send it to her in Ghana. Natural Ghana Girl– another diaspora family w parents from Ghana, did just this. She came w her 2 kids and hubz, got prego in Ghana. And hubz goes back to the UK to make that money to invest it in Ghana. Right now, they are BUILDING a home in Ghana. The Achempongs weren't built for Africa–look at them. They are only HALF black πŸ˜‚. While Dela and HER hubby are FULLY black and BUILT completely for Africa.
    Africa for the AFRICANS!! πŸ˜‚

  19. If the Most Jn igh doesn't tell you to movie there why would you leave, I'll leave it YAH is telling me to leave because I know he will provide. But without, any money and a.resl business along with YAH sensing hiu their. Stay put.

  20. I think anyone coming to africa especially from Europe nd the west needs to come with the mindset of building and have a genuine passion nd love for the country nd it's people, if you come to africa thinking ur going to live lavida loca nd ur life is going to be more privillage because of a lower standards of living, then you will be sorely disappointed

  21. Hands up if you are not surprised the family returned πŸ™ŒπŸΎ πŸ‘€. They are probably from the hoods in europe but were expecting to live like expats on YouTube income

  22. Regarding the passport situation please note that in these Covid19 times its very difficult with lots of Embassies closed or with delayed services . US Embassies as well .

  23. With Netherlands you pay alot of taxes then each end of the year you make 2% of the national insurance contribution so if you are staying out and not paying taxes then you don't get anything. The worst part is they could all loose the passports and be removed from the system.I think that's why they had to go back. And if they were on huurtoeslag(rent allowance) , zorgtoeslag(healthcare allowance) and kinderen money(child benefit)they can't stay away for long. It's like hotel California you can enter but you can never leave. The system is crazy.

  24. Mr Goblack2Africa I am happy for you making this video and explaining this to the people out there. The Acheampong Family really have a problem and the problem starts with the wife. She seems to be the boots and trousers of the family.

Thanks for mentioning the son's passport issue. They could renew the passport for the son in Ghana because there is Dutch/Holland/Netherlands embassy right there in Ghana, I was also really sceptical about it. The husband or son's father was in Netherlands last June or July and could have gone with the boy to renew the passport there whatever the case is. They even went to Togo illegally and back through porous borders and ignorantly put this video on YouTube proudly talking about it.

About the schools, they want their kids in western and diplomatic international schools but yet they said its expensive for them. They send the kids to international schools in Ghana and still talk down on the education system that its not like in Netherlands/Holland. Plus in Africa regardless of the schools being international or private or government, they teach the kids discipline. The kids need to know the difference of being in school abd at home, they cant behave in school with teachersas they do with their parents because school is also not just to study but to learn discipline too in Africa and in Ghana, unlike some parts of the world that teachers just teach and leave discipline to the parents to deal with. Now from their videos they had issues with their kids being disciplined at school and when they went to the Parents and teachers meeting they were not happy and tried to tell them how to run the schools and other parents who were also local, foreign and diaspora and whites were happy for it in each schools they took their kids so they kept changing schools especially because of their daughter that in the end the two kids ended up in two schools. Anytime their daughter complains they move to a new school. She was saying one of the reasons she finds the Schools not conducive for her kids is that the teachers dont even hug her kids, then I said to myself so the teacher has to hug all the kids every time? What if it's a male teacher then get charged with sexual assault or harassment? Honestly I was shocked hearing this from her and the husband was sitting down mute, but I could see from his facial and body language he ain't happy. She mentioned the top high end schools and was talking down on them and thats when I realised she was beating about the bush because some of these schools they even check the jobs of the parents to make sure they can afford and pay before even admitting the children and not because you are from abroad or a diaspora. I know this because I went to those kind of international schools. Then she said those top schools arrent really international but they just call themselves international because they teach French. Why didn't she send her kids to the Dutch or Netherlands school in Accra, Ghana since she wanted the same as back in her country? I don't think they could afford that either. They came to Ghana to live the African life with their cultural roots but wanted to live western life in Ghana.

About the housing when they first arrived they did the same stunt like the knk and were a bit stranded but had a nice place to live. Then she opted for luxury to show off how they live in Africa renting a huge 5 bedroom house with pool. Now later they were having roaches infestations because Their septic tanks or soak away probably was full and also needed to be disinfected, you this happens especially when is full and untreated because they said it only happened when it rained. Also they were buying water from the people who supply water to building or construction sites to fill their water tanks instead of getting their borehole sorted, and this water is mostly from river sources and not treated to she was complaining that the water had some smell in it all the time, which I suspected it to be their water tanks needed cleaning and treatment but they did neither but to complain in the end. She had two maids or house-helps in that house which one doubled as a nanny for the kids and this doesn't come cheap. I dont think she had anyone looking after het children abroad so why in Ghana?
Then later she said the house wad too big for them and it's hard to maintain, very beautiful house and its all in the videos so they had to move out also because there are churches the neighbourhood causing nuisance. But they saw all this before moving in there and in Ghana there churches in every neighbourhood and mosques in the Islamic communities. So she chose East Legon. Everyone on their channel was suggesting they cut down and get something suitable to their budget but she went to the high class neighbourhoods looking for home and ended up in the third place. This was a serviced apartment where they went to rent. Also comes at a price because its a high class neighbourhood and this was in another place away from the place kids go to school so now there is the journey which involves time and fuel cost.

They don't have jobs in Ghana but was always living and spending life as the rich do. Always going to the beaches and staying in hotels across the country with their expatriate friends, besides expatriates do have lavish lives and live expensive mostly in Ghana. I am not being racist here but they said they came to Ghana to live with their people to feel accepted and be black but here they are hardly spending time with black people. The only black people they interract with are foe their videos sake and maybe a couple of friends and family members. The reat are all white people with businesses such as big restaurants and bars and other business in Ghana, which they had none. Only to offer consultations about moving to Africa to people abroad for fees, but this information is really available already on YouTube.

They chose living lives bigger than them and this is why because the could rent places or a nice home away from Legon for less than a 1000 Ghs . Everyone advised them to get a suitable low-cost place and invest their money into their own property because the amount they were paying could build them a house or a home from land to finish. So its their own choice and taste that led to their decision. YouTube was doing them good on income but the last school they checked was like $8000 per kid and that broke the budget as they said and found it too expensive. Meanwhile there are free government schools and other schools way cheaper to afford and are very well accredited. But they want international schools.
