Fort Sumter National Monument has seen a huge decrease in visitors compared with last year due to the coronavirus, but also potentially because of the dialogue about racism and Confederate monuments that emerged in 2020.
Monthly visits are down more than 60 percent this year when compared with the same time frame last year, according to the most recent data from the National Park Service.
