Protesters marched in Winnipeg on Friday from the Manitoba Legislature against racism and police brutality, in solidarity with demonstrations across the U.S. protesting the recent death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minn.

Police use of force has gained intense scrutiny amid widespread protests over the death of the 46-year-old in police custody on May 25.

The protests also come in the wake of a report that showed Winnipeg police had shot and killed three Indigenous people while responding to calls for service in the span of 10 days in early April.
