IoC Survey Reveals Mayors’ Thoughts on Last Year’s Protests against Police Brutality

In the past year, police in US cities shot and killed 991 people. About half of those people were Black, even though Blacks account for less than 13 percent of the nation’s population. The Washington Post reports that Black Americans are killed by police at more than twice the rate of white Americans, and that Hispanic Americans are also killed by police at a disproportionate rate.
