Shirley love your dedication
This conversation focused too much on left vs right, conservative vs liberal, democrat vs republican, when both parties are working together against the best interests of black folks.
Black folks should be tied to the interests of black people first and not tied to the interests of a democratic or republican party or this convervative vs liberal dichotomy.
You have hit the nail on the head for me, Shirley. I am a 44 year old white woman who feels helpless about many of the situations our country faces including the problems in the Black community. The voices that have been speaking on behalf of them are the likes of Maxine Waters (who lives in a $4.5M home) and the Al Sharptons of the world. It always makes me sad that these people have the platform to be heard, but are sending the wrong message. Meanwhile, those currently speaking on behalf of the Black community are just worried about putting money in their own pockets. Those outside of the community don't want to talk about the tough issues for fear of being called a racist and there are people out there who truly care. I am also Jewish and it always struck me that the Jewish community never allowed themselves to be victims, but the Black community seemed content to be victimized. I'm so happy to hear you say it's time for Black people to step up. If you want something in this country go get it! I love to see ANY American step up and get theirs. Please continue to encourage people to find their voices and ask questions. As always, keep up the great work. I LOVE your videos!BTW, I also greatly appreciate your humor. Chocolate pie…LOVE IT!!!
Yes Shirley. Why are most of the gas stations , party stores and grocery stores in the inner cities owned and run by Arab americans. How can they get the financial backing to have the businesses in communities that they dont even live in. I am sure they are living very well where ever they live. These businesses employ all of their family members. Why not give people who live in these communities the backing for these projects. Bill Clinton talked about bringing refugees in to rehab houses in Detroit and pay them to do so. He is a respected democrat. Is he crazy? With all of the young people who are unemployed living in Detroit what is he thinking. Mayor Dugan is doing good things but so much more needs to be done. In Pontiac, a big African American community Mexican businesses abound. Hepatitis A is on the rise all over Michigan. Its a mess. Wish everyone would get off the democratic plantation.
Speak!!!!!! Sherly
Most surveys are biased and don't resonate to Black people's issues. If anybody looks at when the massive legalization did by President Reagan administration that's what created massive overcrowding issues Black communities. As a result, Governor Pete Wilson created Prop 187 to combat the congestion particularly Black communities were on board at that time. Governor Wilson used the Black communities to support his Propersition 187 because the impact was very devastating on public schools and social services.
Shirley spittin THAT FIRE !!!!!
Hey Shirley! Interesting show and loved much of your commentary. As usual your insights and information about immigration, President Trump's desire to help Blacks and the Congressional Black CARCASS are right on point. I, too, am a native Californian. Grew up in the Bay and moved to SoCal to attend UCLA. Graduated from there and stayed for the next 20 years. Lived all over from the SFV to Inglewood to Koreatown. Worked as far out as Ventura. Watched Black people being pushed out; tried to warn us but was called a racist and a bigot. My Christianity was attacked. So glad more Black people are finally speaking out.
Just want to pull your coat tail a little, Sis, about the continued coloration stuff…It wasn't dark chocolate, Shack-like brothers who originated the Black Panthers, it as Huey P. Newton who brought along Bobby Seale. Harry Belafonte brought along Sidney Poitier. Many such examples exist. And as a mellow yellow who has been the spook at the door standing up ALONE in townhall meetings, local government meetings, budget meetings and have asked point blank, "What is your plan for Black people?", dark-chocolate people have been the first to tell me to shut up and/or stay silent to push for "the poor immigrant".
I don't share your opinions about continuing to prioritize Black males. Jaye de Black is a burgeoning misogynist who wants to blame Black women for the failures of Black males. I'm glad to hear he's only in his 20's, hopefully it means he is still pliable enough to change. In the meantime, our people will not rise while Black men want to blame Black women. Nor, while Black women are expected to be ride or die for Black males while they are not expected to do the same. You don't see the men of ANY other culture do that. Not even White men blame White women by and large. Hispanics brutalize their women but you won't find one that will say the Hispanic/Latino corporate woman is supplanting the Latino man. They are all warriors in the fight.
Anyhoo, I continue to look forward to your videos. Keep them coming! And, I love the analogy of the "culture in the cross hairs". Excellent! We also need to call out the so-called Christian community – not just the Black churches but Christians at-large – on their continued racism, apathy and hypocrisy which leaves the Black members of the body of Christ vulnerable to both physical and spiritual attack.
You got Mexicans cutting Black men hair in LA
Actually, immigrants, legal and illegal, get taxpayer-funded small business loans to start businesses. These losns are not open to citizens. Also, blacks do start businesses. We just don't have the support from the government that others have.
Black people condition to assimilate and to participate in a racist society as a result, of that Black people become a cheerleader against their own political interest this is the reason why they have failed over the years politically. Black people are less represented by White and Black political representatives, this is why we have lost our communities and still remain the poorest marginalized population in America. Until Black people acquire political awareness and come away from one party thinking, we can achieve self-liberation. Sherly is right we have to work with white people to receive achievable rights and dignity.
Blacks needs to judge people by the content of their character and their actions not the color of their skin. I`m black and the Latino and white thats married in my family makes sure I`m taking care of. I see evil and good in every color
Shirley, is so beautiful.
Sherilyn I love you. Lol
I'm glad that you mentioned the illegal immigration problem. Regarding them, the illegal aliens are responsible for the crime -look at Jamiel Shaw whose son got shot to death -as well as the diseases. WTH?
I agree Shirley. The President wanted to work with us African Americans but leftists like the CBC are against us anyway. Regarding Maxine Waters, she represents a district in South LA, Inglewood, and Lawndale where Democrats have a 4-1 voter registration edge over Republicans. I am also a So Cal native raised in Inglewood
