“My whole life racism has been an omnipresent topic for me, not only because of personal experiences I’ve had growing up in Germany as a black man,
but mostly through what my African-American family in the US experiences every single day.
I’ve seen all the videos, all the stories, all the murders, all the shootings, all the injustice so many times that I slowly started to become deaf.
But for the first time in my lifetime I feel that this is more.
More than just a moment.
More than just another tragic story.
More than just another wave of protests.
These dark days make me feel hope for the very first time.
Hope that the whole world is about to take the right path in the fight against racism.
And this feeling of hope, which for me is a ray of light in the darkest hour and which despite all the tragedy actually evokes faith in me,
is what my new single titled Faith is about.
I wrote this song, which means a lot to me personally, a few months ago and with everything going on all over the world right now,
especially in my homeland the US, I decided that right now is the right time to release this song.
As a black American, I also feel kind of obliged to use my platform and be vocal for what’s right.
Much like my grandfather who marched along with Martin Luther King in the 60’s Civil Rights Movement
I also want to do my part to bring about change, especially in this impactful time.
I’m releasing this song not only for me and my family, but for all the people whose faces I’ve seen in the headlines every day.
For all my brothers and sisters who had to suffer the most horrible things and often paid with their lives only because of the color of their skin.
For those who live in fear every day just for being who they are.
But also for all those standing up on the streets right now.
For all those fighting for justice in whatever way and thus embody the hope that we can all do better and still create a world
in which no one has to be afraid of being who they are, but where we can all walk together, side by side.
I’m not giving up my faith, that hand in hand we walk one day …”

Lyrics
Woulda never thought one day I’d write this kinda song
So far I never felt the need to speak this type of thoughts
But the latest days have made me fear the ride we’re on
Seems like we lost our sight
‘Cause I remember back when we were taught ‘bout all the times that we were blind
All the ages hatred ruled
All the chaos left behind
Cannot be forgiven
When we are reliving
All the memories of faded lights
So how the hell did we get to this place?
Did we forget who we all are in these dark days?
I’m not giving up my faith
That hand in hand we walk one day
It ain’t yet too late
To take our mistakes
And change our ways
Yeah I’m still not giving up my faith
No matter how dark the shades
However gloomy the night
I can still see the light
That’s never gon’ die
Oh I can tell that things seem dreary
I can tell that things seem hard
I know at times you feel like you’re
Surrounded by the dark
But still don’t give up your faith
Oh don’t cave in
Oh don’t cave in
Oh don’t cave in
To all the
Darkness
Yeah
I’m still not giving up my faith
But um
It’s getting real hard
When I feel like I’m alone some days
I mean
I know that I’m not
But every time I contemplate I
I just feel like I’m lost, you know?
‘Cause it seems like we lost control
Damn
But I ain’t gonna take it
Nah
‘Cause we are gonna take it back
All this shit, we know it
So we are never going back
If anyone is asking ‘how could this happen again?’
No, we cannot turn our backs
But face the fact
That we looked over though
We were supposed to know
Making me ‘fraid to ask
How the hell did we get to this place?
Did we forget who we all are in these dark days?
Oh I’m not giving up my faith
That hand in hand we walk one day
It ain’t yet too late
To take our mistakes
And change our ways
Yeah I’m still not giving up my faith
No matter how dark the shades
However gloomy the night
I can still see the light
That’s never gon’ die
Oh I can tell that things seem dreary
I can tell that things seem hard
I know at times you feel like you’re surrounded by the dark
But still don’t give up your faith
Oh don’t cave in
Oh don’t cave in
Oh don’t cave in
To all the
Darkness
Yeah

BRAVO !!!
Touch my heart
Beautiful message in these words. I really like the energy which comes from your songs.
fun fact… Black Lives Matter is not for Black people… you should Research for what you make Music and not try to run on the Mainstream… 1. Black Lives Matter want to get Justice System complete Removed 2. Black Lives Matter want get all Prisons removed ! (Means all Murder & Rapists on the Streets) 3. Black Lives Matter want all Cops removed in the Usa… And btw allrdy it came out that Black Lives Matter stand for Lbtq+ Trans Feminist Gay&Lesbian but not a Single Word from Straight Black Males…. nothing… think about it… but good music.
