Opponents Fear Proposed Statewide Ban on Menthol Cigarettes Would Hurt the Black Community

In its efforts to curtail the rising nicotine addiction among youth, the state senate approved Senate Bill 793. It now moves to the state assembly, where if passed, SB793 will prohibit the sale of flavored tobacco products such as e-cigarettes, e-hookahs, e-pipes, and other vaping devices. All flavored smokable and non-smokable tobacco products, including cigars, cigarillos, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, snuff, and tobacco edibles will also be banned.
