Anyway you can make a new one for 2019? Think a lot of people would really need to see it
Officer Joe Snuffy, AWESOME Video, I am asking if we can talk on a big project to update with, Please , I can be reached at : rrandolph1080@gmail.com
Nice to see… this is still relevant…
sighHas any else actually looked at the references? The data doesnt add up. If 0.0039 of police contact use excessive force that would result in 167,000 cases. If there were 670,000 officers that average to of 1 in 4 officers using excessive force. Also the report that it was based was a household survey. It didnt include those incarcerated or homless.
The truth is that 60% of department have refused to give their data to the FBI. Why?
He combines data from 200
Now is the time to make an updated version of this video. Update the stats to keep it fresh.
Love your work.
Yeah, but here is the thing. The 5th amendment requires every police officer to submit their evidence to a grand jury to determine probable cause that a person who is presumed innocent until proven guilty can be arrested for a crime. Unfortunately, the supreme court got rid of that requirement in the bill of rights when they passed the 14th amendment. So now the duty of the grand jury falls into the hands of the police rather than a jury of your peers. I remind you that the police work for the prosecutor and not the defendant (protect and to serve? Who?). its not just about police violence. Its about justice and giving too much power to any single individual. Consequentially, we now have innocent people being arrested before a trial, and if you can't afford bail, you will sit a long time in jail until you can prove you are innocent. Therefore, people are no long innocent until proven guilty and the best you can hope for is a apology from the courts for taking away your liberty until they can sort the facts out. People are tired of their lives being turned upside down on the opinion of one person, who may or may not have had a bad day, or even steroid abuser.
One out of every three unarmed people killed in the United States, are killed by the the police… Sociopath behavior is 7% in the United States, its 40% in policemen… Just to put your stats in perspective..
this video aged well
These types of videos are needed more than ever to disprove false anti police narratives.
Is a contact "consensual" when a cop says it's consensual?
lol, .22 percent is nowhere near a QUARTER of the population… wow…
You are statistically more likely to be killed by a cow than face actual police brutality in America, regardless of your ethnicity.
Why no bovine violence awareness movements?
OH, THIS WAS 5 YEARS AGO
Some good facts, but uh maybe a more reasonable number is 0? Imagine if .049% of airline flights ended in a fireball falling from the sky. In 2019 there were on average 188,901 flights per day so that would be 92.56 fireballs full of dying people every day. Would you ever get on a plane?
great video filled with red herrings, false equivalencies, and spin…smh

Truth is powerful
Are y’all d.a this is comparing police to criminals and saying police are better criminals than criminals 😂😂😂😂
We need a new one.
There is no discussion of the constitional standard for the use of force. See Tennessee v. Garner; Terry v. Ohio. In the absence of a quantum of facts leading to practical certainty that the person identified committed a crime or the contraband is in the place stated, the reasonable magistrate may not issue a warrant to arrest/seize. The same standard applies to the exigent circumstances exception, because a delay will cause the evidence or suspect to disappear. Once the person or house is surrounded, no exigent circumstances exist. When the probable cause standard is not met, 100% of every arrest is unconstitutional, and 100% of every use of force is unreasonable under the 4th Amendment.
That the police investigations of themselves following a complaint of misconduct do not result in adverse action do not lead to the conclusion of proper conduct. Legal scholars indicate that police internal investigations are intended to ratify all violations of the constitution.
The proper title for the video is the risk posed by the intentional conduct of police compared to the intentional conduct of inanimate objects. The proper comparison is the risk of injury/death posed when a resident has contacts with other government employees like the clerk at the DMV, animal control, street sweeper, librarian, public health nurse, teacher, janitor, parking attendant, etc. That comparison shows a startling increase in the likelihood not just of injury but of death at the hands of the police, especially for insular minorities:
2019
We use data on police-involved deaths to estimate how the risk of being killed by police use of force in the United States varies across social groups. We estimate the lifetime and age-specific risks of being killed by police by race and sex. We also provide estimates of the proportion of all deaths accounted for by police use of force. We find that African American men and women, American Indian/Alaska Native men and women, and Latino men face higher lifetime risk of being killed by police than do their white peers. Edwards, et.al, "Risk of being killed by police use of force in the United States by age, race–ethnicity, and sex," (PNAS August 20, 2019 116 (34) 16793-16798; first published August 5, 2019). https://www.pnas.org/content/116/34/16793#ref-1
Police violence is designed to repress the secondary labor market occupied by insular minorities, "Policing plays a key role in maintaining structural inequalities between people of color and white people in the United States." Id. Cf, William M. Tuttle, Jr. "Race Riot: Chicago in the Red Summer of 1919," ( New York: Atheneum, 1970; reprint, University of Illinois Press)(race riot provoked by white workers and police to exclude black workers from the labor force in Chicago).
This video ignores the fact that the majority of encounters with police are not confrontational. Of course generally speaking when the cops show up for a car accident or give you a warning, it's not a confrontational interaction. The problem is that officers don't focus enough on deescalation of situations instead of acting like they have something to prove. Too many police departments train their officers with this "Warrior" mentality that encourages violence and viewing everybody as a threat. This really needs to stop. It's defeating its own purpose because it creates too much distrust of the police. Therefore, people lash out and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The use of statistics and second hand information to dismiss someone's first hand experience is what turns us from humans to heartless automatons.
Great vid. Thanks for putting it together. The data is from 2012, do you have any updates?
Coming from a cop lol fuck you
But it does still happen. My town has maybe one or two murders a year. That doesn't make murder OK. Just because there are statistically few bad encounters with police, there should still be none.
This guy is a freaking JOKE
o h m y g o d o u r w o r l d I s c r u e l
If I murdered a half of a percent of the people I knew, I'd still go to jail.
hey cop most police misconduct goes un reported .and your not a peace officer by any means.most cops are corrupt and will cover up for criminal cops. here is a fact for ya.
Remember kids, when it happens to you, you are just a statistic. Just like Robert Leone, Daniel Shaver and Mr and Mrs Tuttle and their dog.
The Bureau of Justice Statistics states that between 400 and 500 citizens are murdered by police annually. But that's small potatoes isn't it?
all these bullshit stats fail to account for the fact that cops are always found not guilty of their brutality unless its caught on camera and even then judges will rule in favor for the police and not find em guilty pig fuckers
