Following violent protests in Uttar Pradesh against the Citizenship Act, several instances of police high-handedness have been reported from the state. 18 people have died due to bullet injuries in since Thursday. However, cops say that the deaths were due to ‘cross firing’ done by miscreants among protesters. Video evidence has emerged showing cops themselves destroying CCTV cameras at a mosque in Muzaffarnagar. NDTV’s Saurabh Shukla visited a house that was ransacked allegedly by the police and the residents were brutally beaten up.
