Refugees' relocation to Lindela Repatriation Center continues

Clean-up operations are continuing at the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Brooklyn in Pretoria following the eviction of more than 100 refugees yesterday.

The refugees had been camping outside the offices in the affluent Pretoria suburb since 2019 after fleeing from xenophobic attacks in the country.

The refugees are requesting to be moved to other countries – but not their countries of origin.

Many came to South Africa after their countries suffered war and collapsed economies.

The City of Tshwane’s waste management department is continuing to clean up after the structures were demolished yesterday.

  1. It is criminal to repatriate human beings to war zones! Mover, after someone has left a country for and extended period of time, they become a stranger to the same country with no family support system. I met a lady here in canada from the DRC, whoms family was killed and she was lucky to escape alive with her children. Why is South Africa is deporting only African people who are related to SA, but we’re separated by an artificial borders arbitrarily created and enforced. This runs contrary to human rights targeting Africans only.

I don’t see SA deporting Chinese, Indians, Caucasians or any none native Africans. But 😒SA is transferring all the hatred from Apartheid to Native Africans and deporting native Africans to war zone in contravention of humanrights. I protested for your freedom in University, and now you are doing the same thing to Native Africans that the Boers did to you. I am so ashamed of a people I always loved, respected, and looked up to. Shameful! Ubuntu!!!πŸ‡―πŸ‡²πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΏπŸ‡²πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΌπŸ‡¬πŸ‡πŸ‡·πŸ‡ΌπŸ‡»πŸ‡¨πŸ‡πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ΏπŸ‡ΌπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¬πŸ‡²πŸ‡ΌπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ΉπŸ‡²πŸ‡±πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΉπŸ™ŒπŸΎ

  2. What support can these foreigners governments contribute to housing these people because they cannot expect the SA government to foot the entire bill of housing and feeding them.

  3. The problem is that most SA citizens live like refugees and how should the government support them? And why if the government is unable to look after SA citizens.

  4. go to Holland…….they love you……free houses,free healthcare,free car…and they pay you,hunderds of euro s ,each month…go to Amsterdam/rotterdam….den Haag and Utrecht….come
