South Africa reflects after ANC centenary

As the world reflects on the ANC’s struggle since 1912, South Africa also remembers a leader who is often overlooked by the international community: Robert Sobukwe, founder of the Pan-Africanist Congress.
Sobukwe would never see his dream of “South Africa’s youth, walking tall, in a country they call their own.” He is a man with a remarkable legacy. In particular, his monumental call to action against the pass laws, on 21st March 1960. Heeding the call, thousands of black South Africans left their pass books at home and marched to their police stations, demanding arrest. “You had to give non-violence a chance. That was Sobukwe’s mission.” Protesters paid the price: police opened fire in the Sharpeville massacre and Sobukwe suffered years of imprisonment. But the protest left an indelible mark on international consciousness and helped clear the path for the ANC to change South African politics.

One of my favourite and greatest pan afrikanist leader of all time. R.I.P our comrade Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe the Land of Azania is mourning of you
The leader who was erased…
a true Pan Afrikanist Rest In Perfect Peace Leader
As usual, Luciferian carcasians are the biggest cowards the world has ever known. Their days are numbered for controlling anything. As black people have ruled the entire earth for 95% percent of humanity history, they are soon to rule again.
The man of God
Thank you so much. I was at university in Cape Town in those years and even on that campus we did not know everything. Robert Sobukwe is the true Africa. I left South Africa in July 1978 as I found I could no longer live in an Apartheid society, either professionally or morally. South Africa is extremely important for what happens there is a blue-print of the world's future. "It is not only the whole of Africa that is at stake, but also the whole of humanity. Only humanity is asleep to itself and too lazy to think. This was to be the role of South Africa. The Apartheid law was not a law only against the non-white, but in truth, against Man himself as a sentient being with a mission to fulfil for Creation." This is from the Postscript of my book on S.A. "White Witness". I quote not for publicity but simply to say that this is what I believe to be true. The road is not easy but neither is anything of value. Thank you again for the video. Bless you. Marianne
Where is the gatvol gang?
💩💩💩💩💩💩
It was before politicians discover Dubai, Louis Vuitton and Gucci's, before the entire country was sold to Indian immigrants, today comrades no longer read you can die coming from the ANC meeting
We stand for equal rights for all individuals and we are not afraid of the consequences#Superhero Sobukwe
A jew befriended him. Why am I not surprised?
THE PROF WAS FEARED SO MUCH THAT THE AUTHORITIES CAME WITH THE "SOBUKWE CLAUSE",SO THAT HE WAS DEEMED DANGEROUS TO BE LOCKED IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT UNTIL DEATH!!!
Respect
Thanks for sharing, We were robbed a leader who remains a hero. We were sold the myth of Mandela of peace preaching in the expense of lives our real heros and Mangaliso Sobukwe remains one. We barely hear about him and for parliament to have a clause just for him, He was more powerful than all apartheid masters combined.
His ideas still relevant even in 2019
How do black South Africans even tolerate the presence of Whites? Amazing, I can never be so gracious as this man.
May we be forgiven for dishonouring the sacrifices of our great fathers.

A hero in all ways..great leader who scared the living daylights out of the neo Nazi apartheid regime.Black consciousness leader whom we supported and approved.Anyone who lived in Africa and supported south
AFRICA was considered a worthy African no matter what colour they were.Must be included in the school curriculum .Australia supported him via the the non-violent Azanian Freedom Front in the 60's here. G'day from Australian.
He was definitely poisoned by the regime.
14:10 "We believe in one race only- the Human race". Mangaliso Sobukwe.
Even martin luther king visited him after his release
If South Africa is for us all, why the heroes who fought for freedom are never mentioned if they are not ANC?, is it ANC people only who have to be mentioned as freedom fighters?. We have to acknowlage all our South African heroes even if they are not ANC comrades.
What is the song being sung?
African's greatest, educated, humble, intelligent, courageous, fearless passionate and with deep conviction of what a human being is.He was not a racist! Personally I feel he was the greatest South African black leader too difficult to forget by true Africans like me.Truly he is no more, nevertheless his spirit did not go with him but still lingers on among us looking for the correct route to spring out again maybe through Julius Malema and others. Big, Bob, rest in peace but the struggle continues for the rest of us still living. You ran your race , deserve full salute and recognition from all of us for the role you played to lift African politics in particular South Africa to where it is now. My thumbs up!
Africans, I find it very odd that who ever cares about Mangaliso's legacy expect another political formation to take up a pen and write about him. Others are blaming it on Mandela, those who cared about Mandela wrote about Mandela, and you who care about Mangaliso's legacy, Write!
How we have fail this man……..people who sacrificed they lives for us
Thanks to Apostle Hlatshwayo for giving us this leader.
African Transformation Movement is here to lead.
It is hurting that there are no his videos nor recordings of him. Information about him so limited which then limit us to know much about him.
Impeccable character of a man… Thank you Nadia!
Africa and humanity in general will be incomplete discussions without the mention of Sobukwe.
"True leadership demands complete subjugation of self, absolute honesty, integrity and uprightness of character, courage and fearlessness and above all, a consuming love for one's people"- Robert Sobukwe.
Undoubtedly, Sobukwe was a true leader.
Is there any statue for Robert Sobukwe or any town renamed after him?🤔🤔🤔
Wow ! What a Revolutionary Hero, sadly he died before he achieved his dream ..Lala ngokuthula Qhawe Le Afrika
