Steve Biko played a pivotal role in empowering and mobilising Black South African’s around the ideologies of black self-determination and pride.
Almost half a century ago, Biko died as a result of injuries he sustained in police custody, and to this day no one has been held accountable for his death. With the emergence of various campaigns including the #blacklivesmatter movement, do Biko’s ideals represent an idea whose time has finally come?
