In this week’s episode of “Professional Confessional,” retired police officer and author of “Police Brutality Matters” Joseph Ested shares some secrets behind one of the world’s most dangerous jobs. Hear about his split-second decision that saved a life and why he believes patience is the key behind every successful pursuit. The former officer also shares his ideas on how he thinks the nation can lessen the strong divide that currently exists between the public and police, including the importance of taking accountability for “bad policing.”

Mature view… Too many of those in authority lack a real and a deep understanding of spiritual awareness such as social justice, the oneness of mankind, elimination of prejudices etc. "…education is of three kinds: material, human, and spiritual." ~ Baha'i Faith
My brother you are an Alpha, but instead of making a video go out and recruit young and old black men, teach em so THEY can patrol their own neighborhoods with a bodycam so the whole world can see how to do this job without INCIDENTS!!!!
I would not bet against those swat guys were white men..
youe a lier and evil
Black cop vs the white cop mentality! Hence we need more real dudes like this in the force, not cops who have no common sense or humanity
This is the type of person we want to be the average cop …
Thank you!
well,… here's what you're not saying…. that the police have nearly all of the weaponry, nearly all of communications, nearly all of the backup, nearly all of the excuses in the form of laws, but they are scared to death that we might try to have equall power. And that the police are nearly always the aggressor. Not the other way around! It's something that could happen to me or you. In a position of power, that is. Power corrupts!!
This is a prime example of why it is important to have your own people police your community. White cops should only police white communities and black cops should police black communities. You cannot police a community you are not apart of. When a White cops is policing a black community he or she are not there to protect or serve, they are there for war purposes.
You are 1 in a Million – or a Billion…The Sadists and Psychopaths enjoy torturing the Innocents. And get legal help and Justification…
Police would make lousy carpenters. Their toolbox would only have a hammer. They would hammer down everything and everyone. Much like Joseph Stalin.
Thank you for doing this video. I love the talk down on death by cop.
Salute to real peace keepers. Salute to you sir
Excellent! If they are not like this man they need to GO!
He's an actor and he's full of 💩💩💩💩
I like this cop he is very well spoken.,👍👍👍👍
He is not real, but some commercial policeman.
We need more cops like him. We do not deserve to have police officers that are cowards and easily point the gun on minorities becuase they're afraid and can't do their job right
This guy was never a real “cop”
Wow. 🤔
He spoke facts tbh & I am 100% against blue Isis
I'm very surprised that the New York Post actually posted this video. So you are capable to doing some fair based reporting.
Myself and my family as a whole have utmost respect for the rule of law and have never been in trouble with the law or anyone I know personally.
Officer/deputies/agents are appointed to do a job where they can use force to the point of ending a person's life with almost blanket immunity! That being said…
Many in law enforcement feel that if you're not one of them, you're LITTLE people. They also have the belief that it's not their job to follow the law, but to interpret it, how they see fit and enforce the law though that interpretation!
State after state, decade after decade county after county, city after city, year after year, police are caught doing immoral, illegal and corrupt activity doing their jobs (or their private lives). They are supposed to protect us and uphold our constitutional rights yet they seem to violate all those tenants because of that sense of immunity from prosecution.
They're a morally bankrupt sub culture in our society that tends to escape real justice when caught. Why as we, as a society allow this?
If a member of law enforcement is ever convicted of these atrocious violations of our rights, freedom or lives, the laws should be changed. They should have enhancements to their sentences like they do if a citizens harms a cop/deputy or agent. Why are they so special if they are even worse than regular society's criminals. SMH..FTP!
I support and back the blue but I don't believe the police should be militarized like it is today, it's all about the money for the system.
End the war on drugs.
Intelligence is a beautiful thing.
So it's about "I have a green light, cool I will use my gun to look like in movies and also ppl will say this man did take some lives'' ?, emmmm…. It's what I expected since the beginning
A cop with integrity? Endangered species right here.
we need more cops like this guy who actually does his job.. sad af they dont care about lives…
being a cop is scary, you never know if a routine traffic stop will be your last so i can understand how that stress might result in some officers making a poor judgment call.
If you "act" to jumpy during a traffic stop. Showing hands out window, etc then the cop will be jumpy. Just be polite and do what the officer requests..
I dont beleive police want to "green light" people just because it is convenient
1:38 "That's textbook green light stuff. Take the shot." 2 Sergeants admitting their training policy dictates shooting the suspect at the 1st opportunity. Should citizens have that same policy when approach by an armed LEO?
True humanitarian! I feel u my brother! You have a great heart! I wish you all the best in your future endeavours and i wish some of officers can take a page from your book and follow! We will all have a great outcome!
I wish more officers would come forward and tell there side of things in social media like this guy . Alot of lives would be saved , no more us vs them ! Much love to those like this guy !
Five years to fire Eric Garner's killer. I will not also forget Phillando Castille. To Serve and Protect is a club serving and protecting each other.
