The Crucifixion of Michael Jackson – Minister Farrakhan's Address

The Crucifixion of Michael Jackson and All Responsible Black Leadership

Minister Louis Farrakhan delivered this insightful address on “the crucifixion of Michael Jackson,” his growing race consciousness and fears of the pop icon’s potential social and political impact. He also revealed, for the first time, that the entertainer donated $100,000 to the historic Million Man March.

The address included details of their personal relationship and Mr. Jackson’s desire and determination to gain control of his legacy. Citing the government’s COINTELPRO operation and parallel’s with biblical scripture, the Minister outlined America’s longstanding fear of Black independent thought or action. 2. Thank you for pointing out all of the positive contributions that mj made to the world. They are rarely, if ever, covered by the media. If/When they are, they put a negative spin on it. He was a good person, and he definitely was "gone too soon". Please know that there are exceptions to the rule, and there are people out there, like myself, who refuse to hate those that are different. I noticed that during your address, you had several security guards near you. I understand why, but it still saddens me. People should feel safe in their respective houses of worship, not scared. We all have the right to our opinions and which religion we practice. I believe in those things, and support those rights, regardless of whether or not I agree with them. I think it's appalling that people resort to violence to silence those they disagree with. Better results always yield from allying with others, rather than spreading hate. That's what mj believed, and he definitely brought the world together. Now, if only we could get the rest of the world to do the same.

  3. Michael Jackson was a man that the world made into a god. He never healed from his childhood tragedies and portrayed himself as a Peter Pan. I love Mike, but I did believe that his character, His Image, to be somewhat dramatized. That's not something that's uncommon in the entertainment world; Celebrities creating an image of themselves that they hope everyone will like. They will even go as far as to creating a new name that they believe is more catchy than the one that their parents gave them, for the sake of being embraced by the world. Mike had a soft-spoken voice, and a humble character, but an electrifying personality once he was on stage or on a video throwing down. It made for an more interesting character, and was also an outlet for him because he never healed from his childhood sufferings.
