I appreciate how you tied it to the gospel. Gave me a better understanding.
Preach 🎯
Facts people watch youtube videos and go on social media then try to open their mouths and start speaking on black issues.
White is the default in society therefore white people never experience cognitive dissonance that black people live with.
My dad coached basketball with mostly Sudanese kids & became very close with the fams. I literally grew up in/ out of Sudanese houses and even got into the routine of setting up the tea tray when visitors came over if I was in the house lol. My dad became a father figure to a lot of the guys and they became brothers to me. I get SO upset to see some of the posts I see on media because exactly what you said – they don’t know the half of it, their lives, their upbringing, their heart! If only people stopped judging from a distance and started to actually integrate and do life together with all colours, maybe their eyes and hearts would open
Well said sir🖤🤔
Amazing commentary and insight!👏🏾 Thanks for sharing. God bless you🙏🏾💖
Man…this is good. Thank you for posting this. A sister in the faith and I have been recently discussing this exact topic. She grew up in the black culture, myself southern white. I was raised in a christian home, and saw the divide in our cultures every Sunday, and in the neighborhoods where we lived. In recent years, as all the BLM and the media hype has jumped up thanks to Iphone cameras and youtube, I've been seeing this divide grow stronger and it's bothering me to the core. You see, Kim & I, we do church together…we don't "go to church". Our little fellowship is very Spirit led and we don't care what color you are as long as you love Jesus, He's your Lord, and you're on mission with us following the Holy Spirit to share the Good News and make Jesus followers. However, it bothers me to know that these young black dudes, or old black dudes, think they can't talk to me, or that they have to change around me because I'm white. She says it's been preached hard in her culture, and that "double consciousness" has been passed down from generations to them. Understandably so given the not so distant past of their grandparents and great grandparents. I've at least gotten to see how Jesus bridges the great divide not only across the chasm of hell, but also of this cultural divide, at least in our little Spirit led fellowship. I'd like to at least say from my perspective/culture, growing up a principal/coach's kid, not all whites are racist or think less of blacks as a people. I want to see everybody who desires better in life reach their goals, and I am willing to help any way possible to offer a hand up. My dad always said he loved being a principal because he knew that some of the "atta boy's" and pats on the back he would give to the students might be the only ones they would get. He knew that many of the kids at his school came from broken homes and rough lives and he loved to try and stand the gap and be an encourager. This is a dialogue we need to keep going to change the tide for the next generations so they aren't having to live in double consciousness. Message me and lets discuss more.
Great insight
Whew. I’m tired.
This is good stuff. Thanks for bringing the knowledge.
Great vid!!! Definitely keep going bro!!!
PODCAST PLEASE!!! You project the message so candidly which I believe is a Gift. I pray that God continues to manifest His word/work within you so He could reach His people through you. God bless!❤️
Young Joseph, I subscribed to you about 8 or 9 months ago, I believe, and BOY(!) has it been worth it. I'm 54 and I learn lots from you with every video. As a Black woman who is the first generation of Civil Rights babies and as a Christian who lost her faith for several years, close to a decade, because of the apathy I saw and see practiced by so-called Christians against Black lives, I find this message so BOLD and POWERFUL!! It is a message that my generation should be preaching. It is a message that may have saved Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali from converting to the false teaching of Islam (really NOI which is different). It is a message that might have saved Tina Turner from converting to Buddhism and so many other notable Blacks who started out in Christian homes but soon found out that only Blacks were trying to behave like Jesus. What Whites and others (for these so-called colored people are every bit as imcompassionate and unbothered as most Whites) need to understand is there IS a difference between people groups. God equipped Blacks, especially the ADOS, to go through the harshest testing known to man (excepting Jesus) and still come out praising His name. They need to understand there is a reason He could not count on them to go through the same experience and still seek His face and grace. There is a reason Blacks are quick to stand up for everyone else while everyone else looks down on Blacks. They'd better start asking God to open their spiritual eyes and marvel at this people who have made their suffering into a wellspring for others. And, we, Blacks, need to return to our God for He cares for us.
Can someone tell me what is "black" culture? I'm confused.
I cant wait to hear this!!🙌🙌🙌
This is gold
Spot on my brother! I am from South Africa and us black people do the exact same thing here.
Thank you for bringing truth! Four years ago I felt called to step out of my comfort zone and live in a predominately black neighborhood in Southeast DC. I also began teaching in a black school and serving at a black church. My eyes and heart were opened to so much. There was/is so much I just didn't know and understand. I was ignorant, even though I was raised to be "color blind". Even that statement is ignorant, despite being rooted in love.
When you mentioned "not having the affection because you don't have a face and a name to go with the story" this spoke so much truth. This is what brings compassion, understanding, and unity. I have truly grown to love listening to people's stories. The biggest thing I have learned is to listen to hear, not listen to respond. I am sharing this video with many of my white friends. It NEEDS to be heard. Thank you again for not being afraid to share truth, in love.
I hope the 35 who disliked find about the love of God and have encounter with him
So glad to have been able to see this video thanks to my sociology prof! it was really enlightening! 🙂 thank you
Wow! So powerful. So we'll said. The power of the gospel. Changes ALL THINGS when you put it under the lens of the gospel. Thanks Bro Jo.
Dude. Thank you.
this is a very well spoken video. I liked how you differentiated between the "workplaceism" but how black folk have a specific "workplacism" for working among mainly blacks. I will never be in this situation unless I moved to Jamaica or somewhere remote/all black. The closest thing I can think of is when I work at the airport and it's all males, which is a gender issue not race. These videos are great, I love that you are teaching us about this, keep the knowledge coming!
I love your passion
☀️☀️
Thank you for helping me start comprehending this concept.
I'm just curious, when you make these videos, would you say you're operating from your black context or your white context?
Mannn talk about it! #shoutouttoyou #fortalkingaboutit 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Bro you need travel the world inlighting people please.
Wow! This is an amazing video!
Sooo…Blacks are prejudice too. They repeatedly choose Black, because they prefer their Black brothers and Sisters, right? They are discriminating~
It had me on the divinity and humanity
I have a sociological final tomorrow and I soo confused on the textbook definition of this!! Thanks for clarifying! Much love ☺️
"You didn't go to the house and smell it"
This video!!! 🔥
Allah, Buddha, Krishna, Would never do that!
Thats why I love Yahuwah.. He actually sacrificed himself for me. He doesn't send me to go kill.. He doesn't tell me to sit still and breathe myself dizzy, he doesn't ask me to first consult multiple Els for answers to my life's questions.. He loves me personally enough to become like me and live life perfectly for me to become compatible to Him..
Shalom and Ahavah
