very very very true talk. in 1976 when I believe roots was first on tv, Most black people were at first was in shock and went to work or school the next day just blown away. because we had never been told ANY stories of where we came from. it was a crazy feeling, then when we saw that scene where the white man whipped Kunta almost to death! and made say his slave name At that point MILLIONS of our people had tears running down OUR faces because we had never seen anything like that before ( THERE WERE MANY WHITE DUDE'S THE NEXT GOT BEAT UP). My city wanted to ban the tv series roots from that point on.it was really deep) they even had a counseling hotline on WTLC Indianapolis
