In 2018, Lexington-based psychologist Lisa Foo had a dilemma. Foo said she had a variety of materials she was looking to donate, and didn’t know where to start. Through her research, though, she stumbled upon the African Library Project. Through this nonprofit, volunteers in America are tapped to organize book drives and raise the funds necessary to send the reading materials to various places in Africa. The goal of each drive is to send one complete “mini library” to a place that does not already have one.
