You should have done an extra 2 minutes and talked about December 6, 1865. That's when slavery in the U.S. was officially abolished w/ the ratification of the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
So watching this after scaring myself. At least the world is bigger than my fucked up mental health.

Happy Juneteenth and great video! However, it's important to note that the Emancipation Proclamation did not free ALL of the enslaved people; it only "freed" slaves in rebellion states. Also, no laws were put in place to protect those freed and some newly freed slaves were recaptured and placed back into bondage. Just a note from a historian.
