  1. Yes! Greetings from a Burundian -American ! That's where I was born ! Have been living in New York City for over 12 years! ๐Ÿ™‚ Have fun!

  2. I appreciate what Herve is saying about repatriation but as he said, it's just a bunch of words without action. Sad but true, even if there were people who wanted to come back to Africa, they don't know where originally their ancestors were taken from. As far as history books say, there were no slaves taken from Burundi to North america for the slave trade. So its a bit pretentious to advocate for a cause that would not affect you in any way shape of form.
And the whole idea that identity is important to africans is true, so bringing suggesting that citizenship be given to anyone african american who wants to come back to africa, while in this day and age there are plenty of undocumented people in Burundi, in Ivory Coast and Kenya (to name a few) is just wild.
a nice thought, but the execution would have to planned to the minutae for it to work.

  3. Please do more of these types of interviews bro! Lots of positivity and love in this reasoning session. โ€œAfrica for the Africans at home and abroadโ€ – Marcus Garvey

  4. They seem to scared of Africa and Africans lol , we only see them in movies , I wonder why , because their "neighbors" white people are always in Africa thousands as tourists …

  5. We say we want to build Africa? Letโ€™s start from its heart. Because, without its heart, Africa is dead โ€ฆโ€ฆ We welcome all African Americans to resuscitate this Country please ๐Ÿ™

  6. Aaron, tell the brother speaking in the blue shirt. He has touched my heart. And his perspective of Black Americans is what all Black Americans hope all of Africa could feel for us.

  7. Thanks a lot Unapologetic Nomads for visiting Burundi. Please come more often, stay longer or why not just move to Burundi. I also like the way Herve has well represented our country in this interview. He should be nominated to be an honorary ambassador of Burundi. Great interview!
