South African President ramps up efforts to ease tensions with U.S.



South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has taken steps to ease tensions with the United States, holding a call with U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Pretoria. Relations between the two countries have been strained over South Africa’s land expropriation policy and allegations of land grabs and farmer oppression claims that Pretoria has strongly denied.
