Mr Semosa lost me at the end where he tried to ascribe this to the economy. While I do agree with him that getting the economy working correctly would lower crime rates I totally disagree that it would prevent this type of crime. He specifically mentions petty crime. In case he's not aware, lets make it plain. Murder is not petty crime. The problem is that we should never sympathise with murderers because we have a high unemployment rate. This is slap in the face for those of us who struggle everyday and yet don't go around murdering people.
