Speaking to MEE Live, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese called on member states to take responsibility for ending Israel’s siege of Gaza, rather than leaving it to civilian groups like the Freedom Flotilla Coalition.
Her comments follow the seizure of the Madleen aid vessel by Israeli forces early on Monday and the deportation of those on board from Israel detention centres.
Amid reports of a land convoy travelling to Gaza from Tunisia to deliver aid, Albanese said “this should not be on civilians” and states must instead take the responsibility.
