LAS VEGAS — Jean Marie Black, 84, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada, following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 28, 1941, in Warren, the daughter of Carl and Mary Terbot.
Jean was a 1958 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended
Youngstown State University.
On May 4, 1961, she married James C. Black. They resided in Warren until 1992 before moving to Las Vegas.
Her husband, James, passed away Jan. 2, 2019.
Jean worked at Trumbull Memorial Hospital as a dietician for 29 years helping others and meeting many new friends throughout the years.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She never hesitated to do anything for her family and was always a strong presence for everyone. She will be dearly missed for her cheerful attitude, warm personality, good cooking and many funny stories she shared with her family.
Jean leaves behind her sons, James (Cynthia) Black of Bazetta Township and Bradley (Tricia) Black of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Brittany Shaw, Breana Black, Shannon Black, Jaimie Nelman, Brandon Black and Alissa Black; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Connor Shaw, Walker and Hudson DeGennaro, Micah Newman, Alora Black, Hailee and Dominic Hudson, and another great grandson due in December. She also leaves behind her sister, Barbara (Joe) Phipps of Midlothian, Texas, and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, James C. Black, and sister, Carol Noble.
