Kodak Black given key to city of Pompano Beach for philanthropy – NBC 6 South Florida

American rapper and singer Bill Kapri, more commonly known as Kodak Black, was handed the key to Pompano Beach City on Tuesday by the Mayor Rex Hardin, as recognition for what he has done for his hometown community throughout the years.

Mayor Hardin gave a speech recognizing Kodak’s philanthropy to his community, how he provided A/C units, delivered hundreds of turkeys on the holidays, gave Christmas presents to children, and paid rent for 200 struggling families in Pompano Beach.

Kodak Black spoke after receiving the key, stating he had talked with city commissioners a few weeks ago and they had mentioned about possibly giving him the key to the city.

“No, please I don’t want it. I swear to God. No, don’t give it…,” was Kodak Black’s reaction in the moment, saying he “did not want the spotlight” on him.

Kodak Black ended the brief speech thanking the city for the honor.
