FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Grace Summers said her house on Fairview Circle in the Johnsonville community of Florence County is badly damaged after a tree fell on it Thursday evening during the storm.

Summers said right now, she and her family can’t stay in the home.

Summers says the wind was strong last night, but hardly any rain, when she heard a loud noise.

“The trailer went to shaking. And I could hear a rumbling sound. Sound almost like a freight train. And that’s when the big tree hit the side of the house. And the house was just shaking and almost like it was an earthquake.”

Summers’s sister, Barbara Black, shared pictures and videos with ABC 15 of the damage to the home.

Black is a community leader in Johnsonville and said she’s doing everything to help her sister.

Summers said she’s just thankful that no one was hurt.

She added that her faith will get them through this unfortunate time.
