The Renton Police Department said the shooting suspect has not been located.
RENTON, Wash. — Two women and a young girl are dead after a shooting inside a Renton apartment on Saturday night, according to the Renton Police Department.
The shooting took place near Kirkland Avenue Northeast and Northeast 18th Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. on July 19.
The suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous, has not been located, according to Meeghan Black, the department’s public information officer. People are urged to avoid the area.
The suspect was hanging out inside the apartment when the shooting occurred, Black said, although it’s not clear what led up to the shooting. The suspect and the victims knew each other, but police did not share details about their relationship.
The girl who was killed is around 9 or 10 years old and the other two victims are adults, she added.
“It’s a pretty gruesome scene,” Black said.
Two witnesses were also inside the apartment at the time of the shooting, but were able to escape, according to Black.
Black said the department is not releasing information about the suspect because they have positively identified him and are actively searching for him.
The Washington State Patrol Crime Lab is responding to process the scene.
