Rep. Yvette Clarke says the Congressional Black Caucus consists of four senators and 58 House representatives of African descent.
She says they work to provide equality and hold leaders accountable for lack of diversity or inclusion.
Clarke called President Donald Trump’s decision to seize control of the D.C police department a “power grab.”
She says crime has been at a 30-year-low in the area and the decision to deploy National Guard is a way to target minority and Black communities.
Clarke says Trump is aiming his threats at specific political leaders and institutions to attack civil rights.
