‘African tribe’ camping in Scottish woods stays put despite council’s eviction deadline



A self-styled “African tribe” that is camping in woodland in Scotland is staying put despite an eviction notice from the local council.

The so-called Kingdom of Kubala was ordered to vacate the land on the outskirts of Jedburgh by 12pm on Monday, after Scottish Borders Council began legal action to evict them.

Sky’s Connor Gillies speaks to the leader Kofi Offeh, the self-proclaimed “King Atehene”, his wife Jean Gasho, who calls herself “Queen Nandi”, and “handmaiden” Kaura Taylor, who calls herself “Asnat”.

  1. I dont know why everyone is getting worked up over this.. these guys are making a really good point. Putting light on Israel, Palestine conflict. They are doing precisely what Israel are doing in Palestine. Precisely. And everyone thinks its a joke & comedy. Lol. You'r a joke. This is happening in REAL time over the past 80 years. Millions got killed in the process.

    Salute to the African king & his people for choosing to live in such conditions to make a message.
