CANTON − The Gilbert Carter Center for Change will be a tangible reminder of the man who devoted decades of service to ministry, youth and civil rights.
The Community Restoration Centers of Stark County residential facility for women at 1200 Market Ave. S recently was renamed in his honor. Carter served as executive director of the then-named Community Treatment and Correction Center Inc. from 1989 to the mid-1990s.
