BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) – Small businesses in Biloxi, Ocean Springs and Wiggins welcomed in shoppers for the nationwide event, Pink Friday.

On Pink Friday, the spotlight is on local shops and boutiques ahead of Black Friday, the big-box shopping event next week.
In Biloxi, downtown shops were turned into a festive space where people enjoyed the sip and shop event.
Some store owners even threw their own special deals for the evening. They said this event is a great way to find a unique gift as people shop for the holidays.

Dime Store Diva Petite Boutique Owner Leonie Johnston said its important to keep money in the community.
“Some things about small, independently owned boutiques and retail locations, you’re going to get excellent customer service, the selection is going to be unique one of a kind finds, and you most of the time you leave with them gift wrapped,” Johnston said.
“A lot of the local businesses are doing raffles, giveaways, gifts with purchases, champagne, all kinds of extra goodies tonight,” Vintage Roots LLC owner Brandy Waltman said.

Shoppers also got the chance to win a $500 gift basket with goodies collected from participating businesses.
