Gobble, gobble, Detroit!
We’re getting into gifting season, with Black Friday marking the unofficial start of a time filled with shopping, crafting and community.
This weekend is less about frantic doorbusters and more about keeping your dollars local — supporting small vendors, creative youth, neighborhood makers and the kinds of events that turn holiday giving into something personal.
P.S. Feeling grateful? Consider donating to your favorite nonprofit — but we’re not biased, of course. 😉
🛍️ Shop local at the Moetivated Black Friday Market on Friday at Rollercade. Dozens of small businesses will be selling clothing, accessories and gifts, perfect for getting a jump-start on holiday shopping. Free to attend.
🌲 Step away from the leftovers and into the leaves at Opt Outside Day at Belle Isle Nature Center on Friday. Spend the holiday weekend wandering trails, spotting birds and soaking up a little fresh air with drop-in hikes, scavenger hunts and nature play. Free with park entry.
🖤 Fall into the holiday weekend at Dear Fall: Black Out Edition — a day party at Chandelier Detroit on Friday hosted by Good Company. DJ Mo Beatz will provide the music for you to dance, mingle and support a good cause. Part of the proceeds go toward adopting families for the holidays. $23.18
