More than a decade after independence, South Sudan is still struggling to secure lasting peace. President Salva Kiir and First Vice President Riek Machar have signed deals, broken them, and returned to the negotiating table time and again. Now, with tensions rising once again, the choices the two leaders make could determine whether the country moves toward stability or slides back into crisis – an outcome that would affect not only their citizens but the wider region.

In Ethiopia, Debre Tsion is not on the same level as Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed; he is only a regional governor.
Im one of the two millions displaced in 2013 civil war 😮😢
Who is funding all this Wars against civilians 😢
its a shame, its a big shame
But the guy doesn’t know the whole story
Is there a civil war in Sudan as well apart from south sudan?
Dr Jok Madut Jok doesn't even mention how the war started in 2013 neglecting to mention the 2013 massacre of nuer ethnic population in juba, this is clearly documented events by Human Rights Organisation
While thier natural resources are being used to build UAE😂😂😂😂
At 1:39 the subtitle says "Script.docx". lol
The Church historically weakened clan and tribal power by promoting a universal moral community that treated all people as equal under one God, not just loyal to their families. By teaching that every person has individual worth, it shifted identity from the clan to the individual. Christian marriage rules also reduced huge extended family networks by encouraging monogamy, banning cousin marriage, and creating smaller, more independent households. This made people rely less on clans for protection and more on neutral institutions like courts and churches. As trust in shared rules grew, clan-based justice and private retaliation lost legitimacy. Over time, this helped create societies where cooperation was based on law, not kinship—opening the door for stronger states, less organized crime, and more peaceful communities.
Let African just accept we co exist let Dinka kingdom be formed nuer kingdom be formed
This is sad, tribal card is bad politics.
Lets all agree this violence is too much already across EAC junior countries
Exactly 💯 so sad what they are doing to africa. The african people don't profit from their own resources at all. Instead thr getting killed for it 😪. Africa has been up for the grabs for a ling time by usa china russia eu and more. Time to fight back and make africa great.
African leader are controlled by the west china and wef. They do as they are told and thn it looks like they don't know what to do but they are told what to do. Theybwant africa to stay behind and poor. They fear a strong africa. Congo alone could be a superpower with its resources.
Who are you trying to fool here ? Non of these wars was between 2 generals or parts as you trying to sell , but it's always external perpetuaters behind all of that . Africa will never get the peace it deserves unless it's children learn to love it & prioritize it's interests instead of representing the interests of external colonizers.
Guaido is a Western project and there is no crisis in Venezuela except the one cooked by the USA.
Lets have seniority within the eac or the east african republic with the biggest economy acting as the leader here its devastating whats happening to civilians in this conflicts zones if at all the leaders families were to be affected a solution be found the soonest the populations are just collaterals to their leaders ambitions , if it were possible the republic of east africa that would be equivalent to canada or usa would be conveniently placed to solves and mitigate the problems arising from member states like this situation of south sudan were two tribes are competing for power in the large union the many tribes present would diminish their difference's and offer a more broader economy that can facilitate and empower the population providing the much needed opportunities.
The war in Sudan must end
The reporter is well dressed ❤️
UN where are u?
We all noticed that sly allusion to Venezuela there. Shameful BBC, busy manufacturing consent
CRISTÃOS MATANDO CRISTÃOS, O INIMIGO DE VOCÊS SÃO OS MULÇUMANOS. VOCÊS TEM QUE TÁ UNIDOS 😢😢😢😢😢😢
I think that the Western concept of democracy will not work in Africa because of too much tribalism and everyone for himself mentality
Best wishes!👍❤️
Our brothers in Nigeria are calling for desame western power for help.😅
Junubin oyee
It's sad that this whole issue would've been solved over a genuine conversation.. not everything is fought in arms. There's need for public debate.
In Africa we have resources but our leaders go for money. Then the leders come for our resources .Shame😢
venezuela is bad example but i cant put it past the British Bullshit Channel. they are good at propaganda
Riek is a power-hungry tyrant who is ready to do whatever it takes to be on top and in the picture, while Kiir is a lucky MI officer who inherited power and failed to transiton it into the nation he fought very hard for and clung to power.

So the south Sudan is again to split into east/west south Sudan.
The whole Sudan will give birth to 50 tiny Sudan states
Do we really need so many experts for a ~ 9 minute video? 🤔
So sad😭
It's a shame on us Africans I swear. Is it really a curse or who actually be wisht the black man
I have solved things already
Between the two leaders
Great work ..though the emphasis on the "two men"…you do know what's happening in Tanzania right😎…
I knew there was a natural resource involved…that's why I don't like reporters. Investigative journalist and analysts break these things down. You're merely scraping the surface
Journalism from centuries past using people from the English colonies to co-opt the opinions of those who had gained independence.
After this propaganda machine made Venezuela an example, I suddenly didn't care what was being said
Please is MACHER the first vice president or is it JOHN GARANG
Magnificent South Sudan Just The Constant Push Bad Or Indifferent The Visual Of Chaos Makes This Mighty Republic Seems It Could Be The Hub Interlock Region Of Africa & Fight For South Sudan Makes The Beauty Of It More Precious.
