100 Black Men of Central Ohio celebrates newly elected leaders at community reception

The 100 Black Men of Central Ohio hosted a celebration Tuesday night honoring newly elected officials from across the region. The reception, held at the Columbus Museum of Art, brought together school board members, city councilmembers, trustees, and judges for an evening focused on connection and community engagement.

Organizers told ABC 6 that the event was designed to help foster meaningful relationships between local leaders and the communities they serve.

“Our goal is really allowing the newly elected officials to come in to introduce themselves not only to our community but to the public and let them know their goals, their aspirations and what they plan on doing while in office,” said Brian Winston, president of 100 Black Men of Central Ohio.

Winston added that the organization remains committed to service, mentorship, and educational support throughout Central Ohio, values they hope newly elected officials will help champion as they begin their terms.
