Michigan fired Sherrone Moore on Wednesday for having an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member.” Later in the day, Moore was arrested for alleged assault after breaking into the home of the staffer with a knife in his hand. In the wake of Moore’s arrest, analyst Ryan Clark slammed the former Wolverines coach on “First Take” on Thursday.
Clark said that Moore didn’t set a good example for black coaches, who are a minority in college sports. A few hours later, Deion Sanders’ friend, rapper Luther Campbell, hit back at Clark’s comments about Moore.
Thanks for the submission!
“Let me say this to Ryan Clark, you say a lot of dumb sh*t on TV,” Campbell said in a video on X. “You and a couple of other people, when you get on, I just turn that motherf*cker off. But this is far and away one of the dumbest things that you have ever said, when you said that Coach Moore has set back African American coaches, and he is a disservice to African American coaches.

Sherrone Moore reportedly dealt with mental health problems before Michigan fired him

NBC Sports reported that Michigan had allegedly been alerted that Sherrone Moore was dealing with mental health problems for a few weeks before the program fired him. Nonetheless, Michigan Athletic Director Warde Manuel allegedly dismissed Moore alone on Wednesday with no security or HR representative present.
Moore finished with an 18-8 record as Michigan’s head coach. He led the program to a 9-3 record this regular season and had posted a victory in the lone game he coached during Michigan’s championship-winning season in 2023.
