Under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso has taken a shocking and historic step. Dirty communities and littering are now crimes, as the country launches a nationwide cleanliness revolution through the Brigade Labal.
Traoré says the second independence is not only about fighting foreign enemies, but also about restoring discipline, dignity, and order at home. Brigade Labal, made up of trained and patriotic young Burkinabè, is tasked with educating citizens, enforcing the law, and transforming public spaces.
More than 70,000 citizens responded by cleaning streets, markets, schools, and neighborhoods across the country in just four days. From Ouagadougou to Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso witnessed a historic movement driven by unity and pride.
With new garbage trucks, trash bins, permanent sanitation jobs, and strict enforcement, the government says Burkina Faso will become the cleanest country in Africa by 2029.
This is not just sanitation. This is a revolution of dignity, discipline, and African self-belief.

Yes. Littering is a Crime. I appreciate fellow humans against Littering. In America there is NO legal littering. We have local trash removal laws. Get caught littering; can get jail time and fined. Ordered hours of picking up trash on highways and parks. Fines are drastically higher than what you are paying. 💰💰🫥🫥👀🤠
