First lady Melania Trump reflected on the 2025 inauguration with black-and-white photos from the various events surrounding the swearing-in of her husband, President Donald Trump.

“A year ago today, I was entrusted to serve our country once again. Being First Lady is not just a privilege; it is a profound responsibility,” the first lady, 55, said in a Tuesday, Jan. 20, post on X.

“As we continue on this journey together, we must remember that hope is a powerful force, and that our vision to create a brighter future for all is within reach,” she continued.

The post includes a video slideshow of the first lady throughout the day, including her at the swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol, the inaugural parade at the Capitol One Arena, and the Liberty Ball at the Washington Convention Center.

Donald, 79, was sworn into office on Jan. 20, 2025, in a ceremony that was moved inside the Capitol Rotunda at the last minute due to freezing weather.

The past 12 months proved turbulent for the Republican president, characterized by controversial ICE raids, a mass restructuring of the federal workforce, frustration over his administration’s handling of evidence related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, dramatic White House renovations, and aggressive foreign policy that has isolated the United States on the world stage.

A new CNN/SSRS poll revealed that 58% of Americans view Donald’s first year back in office as “a failure,” and only 39% approve of the way he is handling his role as president.
