My name is Veronica McCune. I was born in Marksville Louisiana in the 40s. I have university degree. I was trained by my metals as a researcher of different subjects relating to family life.. in 2003 I went to a Baptist Church with a friend of mine in Los Angeles California during that time I was going through personal problems and my friend so I had a need and the only option was a spiritual need when walking into this Baptist Church, we were told there was 11,000 people In this auditorium and most of them were black, I am Roman Catholic and had never seen so many Black people celebrating our Lord Jesus Christ and one spot when it came to praise and worship I could only hear what went on in my head, and there came a voice asking being to research a Native American group Attakapa tribe, which I had never even heard the word Attakapa I refused at first after three Sundays. I went back to this church in 2003 and finally I gave in to the voice I heard during the service of praise and worshiping God and said yes I will research this tribe. I had never heard of.
All I want at the time was a decent job to support myself after being in different fields that did relate to research the mentors I had showed me the way to seek Information that had not been discovered, but had been written vote
The only place I could go is that to my hometown, Marksville, Louisiana asking questions in writing going back into my ancestry and little did I know that the point of view right now is about 2 1/2 blocks from where I was born in the 40s, I researched my grandmother’s side and knew a little bit about my grandfather‘s side, but not much about my grandmother side come to find out my grandmother‘s history was Attakapa and her family spoke fluent French when speaking with the department of interior of acknowledgment they requested that I produce an archaeology report of our history and names of our family members.
