TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa City-County Library celebrated Black History Month on Tuesday with the African American Heritage Bowl.
The trivia-style competition featured themed questions based on Black history.
“I’m hoping that by having a little fun and by looking in the past in a fun and community-centered environment, students will get a chance to see the history in a new way as well as get the experience of working together as a team to discover some things that they might now have learned in school,” said Teen Library Associate Cassandra Meador.
The competition has a middle school bowl, a high school bowl, and a community bowl with trophies awarded for first, second, and third place.
